{"id":1074,"date":"2026-03-24T17:52:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-24T16:52:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rivers-rest.yuntas.eu\/pilotos\/pilot-1\/"},"modified":"2026-03-24T17:52:09","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T16:52:09","slug":"pilot-1","status":"publish","type":"pilotos","link":"https:\/\/rivers-rest.yuntas.eu\/en\/pilots\/pilot-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Pilot 1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pilot Project 1 addresses a very common situation in the Atlantic Arc:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The excessive use of chemical agents in irrigated agricultural areas, and the runoff of these substances into rivers from the first autumn and spring rains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The particularity of the chosen Pilot Project area is that the runoff affects a water intake for the drinking water supply of a population of 200,000 people, and that the pollution is extremely costly for the public sector, forcing it to make extraordinary investments in water treatment of \u20ac0.6 million annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pilot project is located in the Guadalquivir River Basin, and there are indications that periodic pollution originates from some crops in its vicinity, but there is no single representative for all farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"964\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/rivers-rest.yuntas.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/piloto-1-presa.webp\" alt=\"Retortillo Reservoir diversion dam, where water is collected for human consumption \u00a9Yuntas\" class=\"wp-image-611\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rivers-rest.yuntas.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/piloto-1-presa.webp 964w, https:\/\/rivers-rest.yuntas.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/piloto-1-presa-300x168.webp 300w, https:\/\/rivers-rest.yuntas.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/piloto-1-presa-768x430.webp 768w, https:\/\/rivers-rest.yuntas.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/piloto-1-presa-600x336.webp 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 964px) 100vw, 964px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Retortillo Reservoir diversion dam, where water is collected for human consumption \u00a9Yuntas<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the leadership of ARECIAR, the levels of pollutants reaching the river and affecting its ecosystem and drinking water supply will be monitored.
